I’m sure in an every family one among them will have be fond of sweets and in my family it’s me who loves sweets then others. It’s very specific Bengali dessert made from a roasted vermicelli, milk and cream with oodles of sugar which includes toppings like nuts (I used walnuts and almond).
It is a simple pudding, so you can throw in any dried topping of your choice.
Ingredients
- Vermicelli -1 pack
- Ghee-1 tbsp
- Sugar-1/4 cup
- Milk powder -1/4 cup + 1 cup
- Milk-2 cups
- Condensed milk-1/2 cup
- Corn flour-2 tbsp
- Cream -1/4 cup(optional)
Follow The Steps
Step 1 : Crush the vermicelli
Step 2 : In a frying pan, melt the ghee over a medium heat and roast the vermicelli
Step 3: Add sugar and roast it for up to 2 minutes.
Step 4: And to that add ¼ cup milk powder and roast until it turns golden. (Altogether it hardly takes 5 to 8 minutes)
Step 5: Take off the pan from the heat once it’s done
Step 6 : In a separate pan, heat the milk and add powder milk, sugar, corn flour and condensed milk and stir continuously until the milk gets thickens.
Here you can add cream as its purely optional one.
Step 7 : Now we have to layer vermicelli and milk so first spread the roasted vermicelli in glassware and gently press it ,on top of it spread the milk mixture and repeat it for 3 layers.
Garnish with any nuts which are with you….and refrigerate for 3 hours.
